Victor names contest winners
Victor, an ESAB brand, announced winners in its Rulers of the Flame oxy-fuel student contest. Students from six schools participated in two categories—either a team fabrication project or an essay competition. Individual winners are Joshua Doyle from Springfield Clark Career Technology Center, Springfield, Ohio (instructor Brian Sheward); Kyle Hiener from Oxarc Welding School, Spokane, Washington, (instructor Andrew Delateur) and Elizabeth Chaney from Carroll County Career & Technology Center, Westminster, Maryland (instructor Michael Schweinsberg). The team winners hail from Iron Workers 40 & 361 Training Center, Astoria, New York (students Sandy Matos, Anthony Larkin, Anastasiya Grishkevich and Mark Thomas); Rockland BOCES, West Nyack, New York (students Thomas McKenna, Tyler Moore, Kevin Onderdonk, Robert Shields and Robert Himelfarb) and Ogden-Weber Technical College, Ogden, Utah (students Darby McClelland, Michael Oakes, Colby Marker and Christopher Oakes).
Eriez appoints Southeast representative
Eriez, Erie, Pennsylvania, chose Brian B. May Co., Asheville, North Carolina, as its exclusive manufacturing sales representative for the metalworking market in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Brian B. May Co. now offers Eriez’ entire catalog of metalworking equipment.
ARC Abrasives celebrates 60 years
Abrasive manufacturing company ARC Abrasives Inc. celebrates 60 years of service. In 1960, Zerla and Si Stayman’s of Troy, Ohio founded ARC Abrasives by using a Mixmaster to create the adhesive for the company’s first product: the PSA disc. Initially, the company consisted of five people working out of a rented garage. As PSA discs grew popular, ARC introduced more products. Now under second-generation ownership by Tony Stayman, a manufacturing plant and over 100 employees, ARC Abrasives plans to support American manufacturers for decades to come.
Hornet Cutting establishes partnership
Hornet Cutting Systems, Valley Center, Kansas, has partnered with On Point Solutions, a metal fabrication equipment supplier in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, with a sales region extending through 12 states in the central United States. The partnership provides increased capabilities for On Point Solutions and improved access for Hornet CNC cutting machines to customers in the central US.
Beckwood to build 200-ton stretch forming machine
Beckwood Press Co., Fenton, Missouri, has won a contract by H&R Parts Co., Wichita, Kansas, to manufacture a 200-ton Triform sheet stretch forming machine. The machine is designed for stretch forming of aerospace and defense parts made from aluminum sheets up to 3/16-in. thick and 114-in. wide. This machine will feature 40-in. of stroke with a 12-in. by 100-in. mounting table that includes +/-15-degree tilt.
Machine trade-in program launched
IMA Schelling Group is seeking to refurbish and resell used IMA and Schelling machines at its rebuild center in Morrisville, North Carolina. The center features skilled technicians that clean, rebuild, repaint and install software upgrades of pre-owned IMA or Schelling machines. During the rebuild process, each machine is cleaned, evaluated and every component tested. Parts are repaired as needed using genuine parts prior to reassembly, then the equipment is calibrated and tested to original factory specifications to restore its original appearance and performance capability.
