Finishing assets are merged
Jason Industries, Milwaukee, a diversified manufacturer, plans to acquire The Matchless Metal Polish Co., Chicago. This acquisition will offer customers access to a global leader with a single portfolio of solutions for surface preparation, cutting, cleaning and finishing. Matchless Metal Polish will be incorporated into Jason subsidiary Osborn, which serves industrial customers.
Press builder receives order for Navy application
Beckwood Press Co., St. Louis, won a contract from Diverse Metal Products, Houston, for a 2,500-ton hydraulic forming press. Scheduled for delivery later this year, the press will be used to make embossed heat exchanger plates in nuclear missile tubes for the U.S. Navy.
MC Machinery adds distributors
MC Machinery Systems, Elk Grove, Illinois, has chosen Carlson Fabrication Solutions Inc. and Cimarron Industrial Sales as new distributors for laser and press brake machinery. Located in Woburn, Massachusetts, Carlson Fabrication Solution’s territory will include Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York (east of the Hudson River), Rhode Island and Vermont. Cimarron Industry Sales, Benton, Arkansas, covers territory that includes Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Western Tennessee.
DGI Supply to acquire Production Tool & Supply
Industrial products distributor DGI Supply, Wheeling, Illinois, has agreed to acquire certain assets of Production Tool & Supply of Rockford, Illinois. DGI Supply has hired the Production Tool & Supply employees and will continue to operate under the PT&S brand for its customers in the Rockford area. DGI Supply plans to combine its inventory in Loves Park, Illinois, with PT&S’ Rockford location 9 miles away.
O’Neal Steel opens Missouri warehouse
O’Neal Steel opened a metal distribution center in St. Joseph, Missouri. The 64,000-square-foot branch, opened June 1, initially employs eight employees and runs two shifts, five days a week.
UPM adds 8KW fiber laser
United Performance Metals has installed a new 8KW fiber laser at its Cincinnati headquarters. UPM now operates four laser cutting machines in the Ohio Laser Center of Excellence—two fiber lasers and two CO2 lasers.
