Wire brake designed for robotic applications
American Weldquip introduced a wire brake for its robotic torch line. The new integrated wire brake is designed for robotic applications using wire touch sense. The brake is designed to lock and hold the weld wire, up to 0.062 in. diameter, stationary when wire touch sensing for joint detection, etc. The new wire brake is air activated and is deactivated during the welding process.

Discs deliver consistent performance
New Tiger and Wolverine flap discs deliver varying levels of performance, depending on the user’s needs. Composed of ceramic alumina and zirconia alumina grains, the 6-in.-diameter Tiger X standard density, conical flap discs provide maximum performance and aggressive grinding on flat steel and stainless steel surfaces. For general-purpose applications, the 6-in.-diameter Wolverine standard density, conical style (Type 29) and Wolverine high-density, flat style (Type 27) flap discs, made with zirconia alumina, offer a fast cut rate and consistent performance.

Saw built to cut super alloys
The Kalamazoo Industries model K44E 44-inch enclosed wet abrasive saw was custom-fabricated to meet a customer’s special requirements for exact cutting of his super alloys and can be built for others. Inside the 10-ft.-tall enclosure, the sawhead rides on a vertical column instead of the conventional hinge or pivot-style saw. This provides a more stable cut for greater accuracy and repeatability. The 75-hp motor ensures a quick cut and an outstanding finish. Flood cooling further ensures dimensional accuracy by keeping the workpiece at a consistent dimension throughout the production run.

Filters reduce maintenance costs
HemiPleat replacement filter cartridges fit most leading dust collector brands and are guaranteed to last longer than standard filters. Because of their high efficiency and long filter life, HemiPleat replacement cartridges need fewer change-outs, saving time and reducing maintenance costs. HemiPleat filters use a patented pleating technology that exposes more filter media to the airstream to boost the performance of industrial dust collectors. HemiPleat media lowers the filter’s pressure drop and facilitates a better release of dust during pulse cleaning. This also results in using less compressed air and lowering the energy demand of the fan motor.

Buffer wheels offer consistent finishes
Norton FAB wheels feature a patent-pending design that incorporates abrasive grains into the buffing wheel and consistently results in values ranging from 1 to 5 Ra. The new wheels are tear resistant, waterproof and durable, providing longer life than traditional cotton buffs. Wheels are available in outer diameters from 5 in. to 22 in., and in 12 or 16 ply.
